About me

A vibran creative life
Yevhen Sudin
I am a Ukrainian artist living and working on the sunny island of Madeira. My professional foundation was formed at Chernivtsi State University, where I graduated from the Faculty of Decorative and Applied Arts, choosing the direction of contemporary academic realism. It was this school that gave me the foundation that helps me freely combine classical approaches with the search for my own artistic language.
In my work, I explore landscapes, portraits, still lifes, and surrealistic themes. I am inspired by the harmony of nature, the depth of human emotions, and images that exist on the border between reality and fantasy.
Over the years, I have participated in exhibitions in Ukraine, including at the Verkhovna Rada and the Cabinet of Ministers. My experience of international plein air workshops in Poland, Italy, China, and Romania—more than 15 creative trips—has become an important part of my artistic development, broadened my visual horizons, and helped me find a new perspective on familiar themes.
Currently, in parallel with painting on canvas, I am working on painting a temple on Mount Athos—a project that combines spirituality, tradition, and the artist's high responsibility.
For me, art is a path connecting the place where I was born with the spaces where I live and create today. I continue to search, experiment, and share what inspires me.

Temple painting
One of the most responsible and profound in its significance of my projects. The painting of the temple on Mount Athos became not only another professional milestone but also a deeply personal experience.
